Peruzzi Returns with Fourth Studio Album ‘Sabali,’
Nigerian singer-songwriter Peruzzi officially marks his powerful comeback with the release of his fourth studio album, Sabali. Following a period of quiet introspection, the artist known widely as the “songwriter’s songwriter” delivers a project defined by maturity, grace, and groove, named after the Bambara word for “calm endurance.”
Sabali emerges as a self-assured statement from an artist who successfully navigated industry turbulence and silence. The album follows the acclaimed dual release of Rum & Boogie and Heartwork, and finds Peruzzi fusing soulful R&B, Afrobeats, and Afro-fusion with a new level of composure and clarity. The project channels lessons of patience and time, asserting Peruzzi’s unwavering position in the Afrobeats landscape.
The album begins with the lead single, “Die It,” a confident opener that sets the tone for a victory lap achieved on the artist’s own terms. The tracklist flows seamlessly, exploring themes of love on “You” (featuring Kemuel) and undeniable swagger on “Nuff Respect” (featuring legendary Nigerian rapper Jesse Jagz).
A standout feature is the reunion of the original DMW crew on “Perfect Situation,” which sees Peruzzi join forces with Davido, Dremo, and Mayorkun. The project is further enriched by high-profile collaborations: The Cavemen bring their signature highlife warmth to “Mad Oh,” while veteran star Timaya adds flavor to “ANTR (A Night to Remember).” The album expands its sonic palate with first-time collaborators including Jeriq, Terri, Bella Shmurda, Zlatan, and Esoterica.
As Peruzzi explains, Sabali is more than just music; it’s a philosophy: “This album is the sound of holding steady when the world won’t stop shaking. It’s my peace. My patience. My power.”
