SPINALL’s New Album “ÈKÓ GROOVE” Celebrates Lagos and its Global Influence
Nigerian music icon and disc jockey SPINALL has officially released his seventh studio album, “ÈKÓ GROOVE.” The 14-track project is a star-studded masterpiece that highlights his diverse musical taste and knack for impressive collaborations.
The album features a powerhouse lineup of guest artists, including Wizkid, Olamide, Omah Lay, Victony, Young Jonn, Niniola, Tyla, Teni, Summer Walker, Buju Banton, Jaz Karis, Ami Faku, Heavy-K, and many more.
In a conversation with Apple Music, SPINALL shared the vision and inspiration behind the album. “This album is literally about giving kudos back to the city that raised me and raised many other amazing talents,” he explained. He noted that many artists who have moved to Lagos from various parts of Nigeria have been able to take their craft to a global audience.
Throughout the 14 tracks, SPINALL skillfully acts as a bridge between different artists, soundscapes, and belief systems that have shaped Lagos’s reputation as a multicultural hub. All the while, he maintains the melodic foundation that has propelled Afrobeats to international fame.
Leading up to the album’s release, SPINALL teased fans with singles like “KEROSENE” featuring Young Jonn and “ONE CALL” with Omah Lay and Tyla.
