By  |

Warri-bred rapper Erigga has officially released his highly anticipated album, “G.O.A.T,” marking a significant step in his artistic evolution. Known for his vivid storytelling rooted in his experiences in Nigeria’s south-south region and delivered in his signature Waffi Pidgin, Erigga’s latest project sees him shifting focus towards his personal ideals, inner peace, and unapologetic authenticity.

Across the 13 tracks of “G.O.A.T,” Erhiga Agarivbie offers a reflection of his current state, delving into his evolving ambitions and prioritizing peace of mind while embracing the freedom of living by his own rules. While his characteristic storytelling and sharp wit remain, they are now infused with a newfound self-awareness. Musically, the album continues Erigga’s signature style of rapping over an eclectic blend of contemporary Nigerian rap sounds.

The album opens with the introspective “Sacrifice,” a track that candidly explores the challenges and pivotal choices that have shaped his journey. Erigga then transitions into the confident and witty “Gucci Belt,” continuing his tradition of naming songs after luxury brands with his signature sharp wordplay. Throughout “G.O.A.T,” Erigga masterfully balances humor, wisdom, and vulnerability, ensuring each track resonates deeply with listeners. Notably, Track 9, “Around 9,” cleverly utilizes the concept of the clock’s “9” to share personal anecdotes and valuable life lessons.

“G.O.A.T” boasts an impressive array of collaborations, featuring contributions from esteemed artists including Ajebo Hustlers, KashCPT, Great Adamz, Phyno, Jaqi, Big Klef, and Bella Shmurda, adding further depth and dimension to the album’s sonic landscape.
