Kingsley Chinweike Okonkwo, globally known as KCee, has released his latest single, “Ebureje,” a high-energy anthem that showcases his knack for reinvention and his ability to connect with audiences. After a career marked by hits like “Limpopo” and “Ojapiano,” KCee returns with a song designed for celebration, laughter, and unforgettable nights.
Built on a fusion of highlife percussion and modern Afrobeats, “Ebureje” is powered by its infectious call-and-response chant, “Eburu je eburu la.” This refrain instantly turns any space into a vibrant cultural festival, while the playful verses add a flirty and mischievous mood to the track.
KCee’s lyrics effortlessly blend street slang with global references, from La Liga and Ibiza to pizza and suya. The track moves smoothly between romance and revelry, featuring cheeky lines like “Give am body work like a panel beater” and lifestyle boasts about “2 am in the morning… amount bottles we popping.”
According to KCee, the song was created to evoke the feeling of old-school street carnivals while still being a hit in clubs. He states that “Ebureje” is for “everyone who just wants to dance without overthinking.”
