Nigerian multi-talented artist WADEMIX, a versatile musician known for his work as a guitarist, producer, and songwriter, has released his new two-track offering titled ‘The Boys Made Me Do This (TBMMDT)’. The project serves as a compelling follow-up to his debut EP, showcasing his unique blend of Afro R&B and soul.
The two-pack features the tracks “Days. Ema Onigah” and “Take 5 ft. Boyliam,” each offering a distinct yet intimate musical experience. The first track, “Days,” is a poignant and heartfelt musical monologue. With vocals by Ema Onigah, the song captures the emotional weight of distance and the quiet hope of reconnection, feeling like a raw and sincere conversation with someone who has been absent for too long.
In contrast, “Take 5” is an Afro-soul tune that swaps emotional stress for a sense of calm and seduction. Featuring Boyliam, the track finds beauty in simplicity, with lyrics that focus on finding connection and harmony in ordinary moments. The song’s profound message—that true magic doesn’t require luxury—resonates deeply.
Together, the two tracks on ‘The Boys Made Me Do This’ provide a nuanced and intimate look into WADEMIX’s artistic vision, highlighting his ability to craft music that is both emotionally resonant and sonically rich.
