Afropop newcomer Nazor has officially arrived on the music scene with his debut offering, “Different Colours of Light,” a five-track EP that delves into the intricate and often messy beauty of love.
The EP opens with “"Gwa Nu Mu," a poignant plea for clarity and understanding within a relationship that seems to be fading. Nazor then transitions into the raw emotion of “"Jelosi Jeloma," a track that fearlessly lays bare his feelings of jealousy. On “"Dey Play," he explores the depths of foolish devotion, openly admitting a willingness to be exploited for even the smallest scraps of affection.
The EP takes a dramatic turn with “"Rotate," where Nazor pledges unwavering loyalty, even to the point of sacrificing his own life. The collection concludes with a shift in mood on “"Ebelebe," an upbeat afropop rhythm that seamlessly merges “lamba” and “aura” to serenade a love interest with infectious energy.
Each song on “Different Colours of Light” resonates with universally relatable moments: the anticipation of love, the intensity of falling too hard, the pain of heartbreak, and the courage to try again. With a smooth blend of vulnerability and undeniable swagger, Nazor positions himself as the everyman of Afropop romance, adeptly guiding listeners through the full spectrum of emotional highs and lows that accompany the pursuit of love.
