Eugene Malete, known professionally as Gene Boi, is a gifted music producer and DJ from Pretoria, South Africa. Showing musical curiosity from an early age, he began experimenting with sound in primary school, often turning everyday objects into instruments that sparked spontaneous dance reactions.
Inspired by South African heavyweights such as DJ Kent, Black Coffee, DJ Cleo, DJ Clock, and DJ Shimza, Gene Boi has collaborated with a wide range of local talents, including Dee Cee, DJ Vitoto, Most Lenyora, Una, Villa, Symba, Royality, NativeSon, Ksoul, and Nvrth. He is steadily carving out a space for himself as a rising force within the local dance and Afro House scene.
