After years of crafting love stories from behind the mixing boards, Deeyasso steps fully into the light as a singer and songwriter with his latest single, “Addiction.” Marking a fresh evolution in his sound, the new track trades the indie folk and pop textures of his earlier 2025 releases, such as “Forever and Perfect” and “Only Me,” for an infectious Afrohouse groove.
“Addiction” captures the profound, almost irresistible pull of a love that refuses to let go. Over a backdrop of smooth, driving Afrohouse rhythms, Deeyasso’s voice—tender, honest, and unmistakably his own—glides with quiet urgency.
The song is a vulnerable confession, exploring the deep-seated dependency that develops in a truly consuming relationship. Deeyasso openly shares the emotional weight of separation, singing lines like, “Every time you go I’m feeling heavy, every day you show me what is love.”
The track explores love not just as passion, but as habit and comfort—something so essential it becomes a necessary part of existence, drawing you back every time you attempt to walk away. This sincerity and emotional depth, now coupled with a vibrant, dance-ready sound, mark an exciting new chapter for the emerging artist.
With “Addiction,” Deeyasso is ready to take over your playlist, offering a dancefloor experience that is as heartfelt as it is infectious.
“Addiction” is available now on all major streaming platforms.
The song is a major hit…it is a great song well defined.
