Nigerian artist Deewave, known for effortlessly translating emotion into melody, shifts his focus to the journey of self-made success on his powerful new single, “WDWM” (short for “Won Da Wa Mo”). Teaming up with respected street-hop lyricist Wale Turner, Deewave delivers a grounded, resolute record about the cost of progress and the clarity earned through resilience.
“WDWM” is a hard-won meditation on growth. The track opens with Deewave’s quiet, firm admission: “Out for the profit and the money again, walked through the chaos now I’m friends with the pain.” This line serves as a reckoning, mapping a path shaped by discipline, sacrifice, and newly acquired wisdom.
The collaboration is a perfect fusion of complementary styles. Deewave establishes the reflective tone, while Wale Turner elevates the track with his sharp, street-smart swagger and potent Yoruba-laced verses. The song transforms into a dynamic dialogue between two artists who have learned the vital importance of trusting their own rhythm in a world that seldom pauses.
The essence of “WDWM” lies in its message of stability amidst turbulence. It’s a powerful mantra for anyone focused on building something real—a refusal to be derailed by noise, self-doubt, or the immense pressure of expectation.
In its compelling balance of quiet reflection and fierce resolve, “WDWM” functions as both a mirror for those on the grind and the fuel they need to keep moving forward.
“WDWM” is available for streaming now on all major music platforms.
