Big Banju Demands to Be Heard with Debut EP, ‘Who Is Big Banju’
The name Big Banju is no longer a whisper; it’s a statement. The Akwa Ibom-born artist has flipped the script with the release of his debut EP, ‘Who Is Big Banju,’ a project that serves as a loud and confident reintroduction. Big Banju wasn’t handed a platform—he built his own with a mix of hustle, heart, and humour. Every moment of doubt, every laugh before a listen, has been poured into these eight tracks.
The EP starts on a note of humility with “Bless Me,” a track where Big Banju asks for grace in a world that rarely offers it freely. He quickly shifts gears with “Location,” a dance-driven banger featuring a viral skit by Carter Efe that transforms online energy into an upbeat record. From there, he shows his range on “Lightly,” a tender and vulnerable confession about finding a love that heals. “I was trying to prove my love to the wrong people,” he reveals, showing his growth and honesty.
Big Banju teams up with street-hop artist Zlatan on “I’m In Love With You,” blending raw grit with romance to prove that love can be both loud and loyal. The EP also includes “S.B.U (Something Bout You),” which captures the thrill of obsession, and the slower, more celebratory track “Infinity.”
With this project, Big Banju isn’t trying to please everyone. He simply wants to be heard, and with the release of ‘Who Is Big Banju,’ he’s making it impossible to look away.
