BBO, born Bakare Boluwatife Oluwatobi, grew up in Nigeria surrounded by Yoruba gospel music and church worship. His sound developed through years of leading worship and writing songs rooted in faith and scripture. Over time, he built a style that blends contemporary gospel with traditional Yoruba praise, shaped by live ministry experiences. On “Oro,” he is joined by gospel veteran Tope Alabi for a shared worship expression.
“Oro” focuses on the belief that God’s spoken Word carries creation, healing, and restoration. Sung mainly in Yoruba with moments of English declaration, the song draws from scripture and faith-based reflections. The phrase “Oro ni e, Oro ti n gbe oro mi” frames the record around
trust in God’s Word as the force behind change and renewal.
The song moves in phases, starting with soft chants and atmospheric vocals before building into a fuller worship sound.
