Joeboy continues his streak of captivating releases with his new single, “Taxi Driver,” a poignant track accompanied by an innovative episodic visual series. Just weeks after dropping “SMH,” Joeboy unveils the first episode of “Taxi Driver,” offering a glimpse into a larger narrative.

The visuals for “Taxi Driver” star the renowned Nigerian comedian and actor, Layi Wasabi, as a frustrated divorce lawyer. In a compelling performance, Wasabi’s character pours out his relationship troubles from the back seat of Joeboy’s taxi. Joeboy, acting as both a listener and the voice of the song, connects with the raw emotion of heartbreak and the search for solace.

The lyrics powerfully capture this sentiment: “Taxi driver, can you take me home. I can’t feel my soul. Hate this feeling, I’m better on my own. I don see something, somebody comfort me. This girl show me shege but no lele. Somebody comfort me.”

“Taxi Driver” provides a taste of Joeboy’s forthcoming album, “Lavida Boy,” promising a collection of music that explores diverse themes and showcases his artistic growth.
