The Lagos and London-based production duo Svndaypack is making a statement with their latest single, “Gas You Up,” a smooth, romantic track that features vocalists Noon Dave and Soulaar. The song, which blends Afropop, alté, and R&B, is an exciting addition to the African music scene.
“Gas You Up” stands out for its intimate and conversational tone. Svndaypack, whose members have a diverse background spanning Nigeria, Kenya, and the US, wanted to create a sound that felt both modern and personal. As they described it, the single is designed to feel like “a voice note you send at 2 AM, honest, a little cocky, but still real.”
The song’s lyrics are a clever fusion of Nigerian expressions and intimate confessions, with lines like “You sweet like agbalumo” and “for you I dey on a lockdown” creating a unique, relatable narrative. The production provides a warm and inviting beat that perfectly complements the lyrical depth.
The collaboration with Noon Dave and Soulaar adds a rich, three-layered vocal harmony, drawing listeners into the song’s flirtatious world. Noon Dave, an R&B singer signed to Chocolate City Music, and Soulaar, a talented artist with a tech background, both contribute their unique styles, making the track a compelling listen.
“Gas You Up” is available now on all major streaming platforms.
