Nigerian Afrobeats star Raoul John Njeng-Njeng, widely known as Skales, has premiered his latest single, “Burst Their Speakers,” signaling his intent to continue a remarkable run of form in 2025. This year has seen a significant resurgence for the artist, propelled by the renewed global success of his 2014 hit, “Shake Body.”
“Burst Their Speakers” serves as a bold declaration from the Kaduna-born singer, who has seen his decade-old track become a viral sensation once again. In the new song, Skales sings, “As for me, I know, we go burst their speakers,” hinting at a forthcoming music album. The track also features a clever piece of artistic ingenuity, as he interpolates a lyrical essence from his 2017 hit “Booty Language,” with a familiar chant of “Burst Their Speakers booty, Burst Their Speakers a**.” This creative nod to his past work reinforces his lasting impact and artistic dexterity.
The release of “Burst Their Speakers” adds to a growing collection of singles from Skales this year, following “Another one,” “Dance like Lamine Yamal,” and a Spanish remix of “Shake Body.” The new single aims to solidify his position as a go-to hitmaker, capable of crafting bangers at will.
Skales’ 2025 has been a year of major milestones. The singer has found his music anthemized by football clubs, players, and fans across Europe, culminating in a performance at the 2025 Barcelona Copa Del Rey Celebration. This global traction, spearheaded by the viral success of “Shake Body,” has reaffirmed Skales’ place as a hitmaker who knows how to ignite a room and soundtrack unforgettable moments.
“Burst Their Speakers” is available now on all streaming platforms.
