Rising Indie Afro-Soul artist Rukmani, a voice shaped by life’s challenges and illuminated by the power of music, has released her highly anticipated EP, “3XL.” Born in Port Harcourt, Nigeria, Rukmani’s musical journey began at the tender age of six in her church choir, providing solace and a means of expression amidst hardship.
“3XL” is a vibrant and deeply personal exploration of love in its multifaceted forms: unwavering devotion, empowering self-love, and unapologetic freedom. Each track on the EP offers a unique perspective on this universal theme. From the comforting reassurance of “From Softie To You (Dey There)” to the bold confidence of “Woman Joseph,” Rukmani navigates the complexities of the heart with grace and insight.
The EP injects playful energy with tracks like “Gen Z Lifestyle” and “TikTok,” while collaborations on “Compromise” (featuring Kemuel) and “We Move” (with Femi Leye) are poised to captivate listeners. The EP culminates with the poignant “Tear Us Apart,” a powerful reminder that the ultimate act of love can sometimes be choosing oneself, followed by an electrifying “Woman Joseph (Club Mix)” that showcases Rukmani’s impressive versatility.
“Love is more than just an emotion. It’s an act, a choice, and sometimes, a revolution,” shares Rukmani, encapsulating the EP’s core message.
“3XL” transcends mere music; it is an invitation to deeply feel and wholeheartedly embrace the spectrum of human connection.
