Singer Rukmani has released her latest single, “Not Nice,” a collaboration with Sgawd that turns the painful experience of being undervalued in a relationship into a powerful, head-nodding anthem. The track, which feels like a candid diary entry, explores the moment of clarity that leads to walking away from a love that has turned cold.
The song’s hook, “You’re not nice, yeah,” is a simple but impactful statement that captures a familiar breaking point. Rukmani’s lyrics give listeners a raw look into the exhausting cycle of emotional labor, with lines like “You Dey quick to forget / Anything I do for you.”
Sgawd’s verse cuts even deeper, using a stark metaphor to describe the transient nature of the relationship: “If I stick around you go use me like doormat / You use bolt.” The line “Said some mean shit had to block you off my contact list” speaks to a modern form of emotional self-preservation, with the song normalizing the decision to leave even when feelings still linger.
Produced by NYRP, the track’s infectious bounce makes walking away feel less like a heartbreak and more like a victory lap. “Not Nice” is a resonant song for anyone who has ever felt taken for granted, and it is now available on all major streaming platforms.
