Lagos-born Afropop rising star Olamzzy, an artist who honed his craft through vibrant street parties, intense late-night studio sessions, and a profound love for club culture, is set to make waves with his latest single, “Sofa.” Known for transforming everyday moments into groovy, feel-good jams, Olamzzy now stakes his claim by making intimacy the very heartbeat of the dance floor.
“Sofa” is the ultimate flirty, steamy Afropop club banger. A captivating mid-tempo beat grooves alongside suggestive Yoruba slang like “Omoge your body,” expertly blending playful seduction with raw street energy. Olamzzy peppers the track with lines such as “Won logbenu sori / Biko put it down,” actively encouraging listeners to move, to close in, and to sway with intention. This is the track people will reach for when DMs are glowing, lights are dim, and electricity fills the air.
As the song unfolds, Olamzzy weaves in personal color and familiarity by naming characters like “Angelina” and “Funmi.” A hypnotic “Ibadi eh…” chant threads its way through the entire track, pulling listeners deeper into its allure. When the beat eventually fades, it gracefully returns to the “sofa” itself – a powerful metaphor for closeness, desire, and those lingering, unforgettable moments.
“This record is about late-night whispers and that gentle pull closer,” says Olamzzy. “It’s a moment when music, heart, and eyes talk.”
“Sofa” is poised to become the soundtrack for intimate connections and unforgettable nights, proving that the dance floor can be a space for both high energy and profound closeness.
