Cameroonian-American artist Libianca has released her deeply personal new single, “No Water,” a vulnerable Afrobeats track that tackles the difficult subject of mental health. The song is now available on all major streaming platforms.
“No Water” finds Libianca at her most candid, using powerful metaphors to express the weight of emotional burdens. The track’s straightforward honesty is a significant addition to contemporary African music, as conversations around mental health become more prominent.
With the opening lines, “I don’t feel the need to pretend / There’s a heavy load on my shoulder,” Libianca strips away any pretense, creating a raw and relatable anthem for anyone struggling. The song’s production maintains the sonic warmth that characterized her global hit “People” while focusing on themes of emotional resilience and the strength of community support.
This release showcases Libianca’s ability to turn real-life experiences into compelling music, proving that a true connection with an audience comes from showing one’s whole truth. “No Water” serves as a poignant reminder that asking for help can be the bravest thing you do.
