Brian Ouko Omollo, the multi-award-winning Kenyan rap titan better known as Khaligraph Jones, has officially released his latest high-energy single, “Uspimee.” Following a decade of global dominance and consistent elevation of African hip-hop, the “OG” returns with a track that serves as both a personal manifesto and a rallying cry for a generation navigating the pressures of modern life.
“Uspimee”—a Swahili-inspired term urging one not to be measured or underestimated—is a masterclass in resilience and self-confidence. Moving away from the trap of social comparison, Khaligraph Jones encourages his listeners to measure themselves only against the challenges they face. The record is grounded in real-life experience, weaving together hard-hitting beats with the precise wordplay and unmatched energy that have become his signature.
The track provides a raw look into Khaligraph’s own journey, from his early struggles and brushes with the law to the relentless hustle required to put Kenyan rap on the international stage. By blending street narratives with broader themes of patriotism and artistry, “Uspimee” shows how determination and skill can transform adversity into a story of achievement. It is a record that demands listeners take control of their own narratives.
As an artist who has consistently bridged the gap between underground authenticity and commercial success, Khaligraph Jones continues to push the boundaries of the genre. “Uspimee” reinforces his position as the “people’s champion,” providing a soundtrack for those who choose to rise above obstacles through sheer perseverance and loyalty to their craft.
“Uspimee” is available now on all major digital streaming platforms
