JayJayy celebrates her birthday with a special musical offering alongside W4de, unveiling their new EP, 2SPIN.
Arriving as a gift to the fans who have supported JayJayy throughout her journey, 2SPIN takes a more street-rooted and unconventional approach, allowing the artist to explore a sound outside the music audiences have come to know her for.
While JayJayy continues to build on the momentum of her acclaimed debut album, Detour, 2SPIN provides an opportunity to showcase her versatility and creative range. The project is a deliberate step into a different sonic space, demonstrating that her artistry extends beyond a single sound or genre.
“2SPIN is a street project and something different from what people usually hear from me. It’s a chance to show my diversity and give the people who have been supporting me something special on my birthday,” says JayJayy.
The EP’s lead single, Happy Birthday, sets the tone for the release, with JayJayy turning the occasion into a celebration shared with her audience. Rather than simply marking another year, the release transforms her birthday into a moment of appreciation for the people who have been part of her journey.
2SPIN also brings together a selection of exciting collaborators, with features from Mordecai, Uncool MC, MdeshKayro and more, adding further depth and personality to the project.

Hailing from Soweto, JayJayy (born Kamogelo. Makoma Jaydrean Mokoti) is one of South Africa’s most exciting young voices, skillfully carving out her space in the Amapiano and Afro-Pop scenes with a soulful tone and magnetic energy. Her musical journey began at the age of 10 while living in Fleurhot, Florida, when a neighbour with a home studio gave her the chance to step behind the mic for the first time.
This pivotal experience, combined with the diverse musical foundation built at home listening to legends like Lebo Mathosa, Lauryn Hill, Brenda Fassie, Erykah Badu, Bob Marley, Eminem, and Tupac-shaped her versatile and emotionally rich style. She effortlessly blends soul, trap, and Amapiano, creating a sound that is uniquely her own. A natural performer, JayJayy’s artistic instincts were clear from an early age; she started a choir in Grade 7 and studied dramatic arts, cementing the deep connection to music and powerful stage presence that defines her today.
