After giving us a full dose of “Offer” featuring Nigerian rap titan Vector, rising rap sensation PDSTRN has released his latest single “IDAN,” featuring renowned producer Sholz. The track, whose title translates to “BOSS” in Yoruba, showcases PDSTRN’s dynamic lyrical prowess and distinctive Naija-grade bounce. In “IDAN,” PDSTRN weaves a compelling narrative of his boss’s lifestyle, effortlessly blending themes of business acumen and playful extravagance, underscored by a beat that is both infectious and unmistakably Nigerian.
Clocking in at just over three minutes, “IDAN” boasts a bouncy, unmistakably Naija-grade groove that sets the stage for PDSTRN’s lyrical mastery. The track captivates listeners with its infectious beat, but it’s PDSTRN’s impeccable cadence and storytelling that truly stand out. Throughout the song, he deftly explores themes of lust, thrill, ego, and bravado, painting a vivid picture of the allure and dangers of street credibility. His world in “IDAN” is both personal and relatable, making the track a compelling listen from start to finish.
As the song draws to a close, a Yoruba ballad that loosely translates to “Money is the head over problem, when it gets to the mouth of problem…problem is satisfied,” adds a powerful touch. Performed excellently by PDSTRN and guest vocalists, this ending solidifies “IDAN” as a profound musical experience. The collaboration with Sholz has resulted in a track that not only highlights PDSTRN’s versatility but also his ability to create music that resonates deeply with audiences.
