Renowned gospel minister Gabriel Eziashi has announced the release of his latest single, “Halleluyah,” featuring the soulful vocals of Olumide Iyun. Moving away from narrative-driven songwriting, Eziashi delivers a track centered on the power of communal praise and the simplicity of shared devotion.
Born in Lagos and now a staple of the UK gospel scene, Gabriel Eziashi has built a career on music that bridges the gap between the divine and the everyday. With “Halleluyah,” he shifts the focus from the artist to the audience, creating a sonic environment where listeners become active participants.
“Halleluyah” is anchored by a rhythmic, repetitive chant that strips away complexity to reveal the core of worship. By focusing on the timeless declaration of “Praise the Lord,” the song bypasses the need for lyric sheets, allowing worshippers to enter a state of flow and immersion.
The track captures the raw energy of a live gathering, punctuated by prompts that encourage the listener to “Lift your voices” and “Let the people praise Him.”
“This song wasn’t written for a spotlight or a stage,” says Eziashi. “It was designed for rooms filled with voices—for people to come together in gratitude and reverence, setting aside their individual stories to focus on a singular, powerful truth.”
