Nigerian singer-songwriter Fortune Lio C is set to dominate the Afro-fusion and dance circuits with his latest single, “Pretty As Fvck.” Featuring the versatile artist Demigod, the track is a high-octane celebration of dark-skinned beauty and unwavering romantic loyalty. Known for his ability to bridge the gap between traditional African rhythms and modern electronic influences, Fortune Lio C has crafted a record that is as visually evocative as it is sonically infectious.
“Pretty As Fvck” serves as a bold reclamation of beauty standards, centered on the pride and allure of natural melanin. The hook—revolving around the striking line, “Dark skin melanin pop”—functions as a confident mantra, pushing back against comparison culture with a direct and unapologetic tone. By pairing high-energy dance production with lyrics that exalt dark-skinned women, Fortune Lio C and Demigod have created more than just a club record; they have delivered a cultural affirmation of natural beauty and self-worth.
Beyond its swagger and surface-level boldness, the song is deeply rooted in themes of devotion and presence. Throughout the verses, Fortune Lio C shifts from admiration to commitment, with lines like “Just call me anytime you need” and “Treat you like a queen” providing an emotional anchor to the track. Demigod’s contribution adds a necessary texture to the single, balancing the track’s infectious rhythm with a sense of genuine affection. The result is a song that feels just as appropriate for a late-night drive as it does for a peak-hour radio rotation.
The production leans heavily into the melodic repetition that has become a hallmark of Fortune Lio C’s sound, ensuring that the chorus lingers long after the music stops. As an artist who consistently moves between mainstream Afro-pop and the specialized Afro House scene, this release showcases his growth as a performer who understands the pulse of the dancefloor. “Pretty As Fvck” is a testament to the power of romantic assurance and a vibrant salute to the beauty of the African woman.
“Pretty As Fvck” is now available on all major streaming platforms worldwide.
