Promising Nigerian singer FOLA has released his latest single, “you,” a tender R&B slow-burn that strips romance down to its rawest and most vulnerable form. The track is the second official song of the year from FOLA and is an early look into his highly anticipated debut album, catharsis.
Through “you,” FOLA pens a modern love letter that effortlessly balances poetic elegance with conversational ease, turning simple words into profound vows of devotion. The song is a compelling blend of contemporary Afro-R&B sensibilities and timeless romantic appeal, creating a sound that feels both new and instantly classic.
The innovative and fresh production by Kel-P wraps listeners in a feeling of instant comfort, yet unveils new depths with every listen. With each repetition, the chorus and verses grow more potent, shifting from a gentle nod to a powerful emotional cornerstone.
“For me, ‘you’ is the heart of the story I want to tell with catharsis,” FOLA says. “It’s about finding that one person who grounds you, and it’s a song for anyone who has ever felt that kind of deep, vulnerable love.”
“you” follows FOLA’s Kizz Daniel-assisted track, “lost,” and is now available on all major streaming platforms. The full album, catharsis, is set to drop in the coming months.
