Fast-rising Nigerian rapper and songwriter Double Gee2x has officially released his latest street-hop single, “Ore Agbako,” a raw and reflective record exploring the complex dynamics of trust, betrayal, and fake friendships.
Rooted in streetwise storytelling and dynamic vocal arrangements, “Ore Agbako” draws heavily on Yoruba cultural expressions to deliver a timely caution against envious, toxic, and competitive companions. Translating literally as a friend who brings misfortune or bad energy, the record finds Double Gee2x confronting the harsh realities of navigating success while trying to identify true allies from wolves in sheep’s clothing.
Built over a driving rhythm with dark, atmospheric street-hop textures, Double Gee2x uses precise cadence and relatable lyrics to recount personal observations from his journey in the music industry. Rather than relying on superficial themes, the record taps into a universal human experience, offering listeners a cautionary message about protecting their peace and maintaining focus amidst surrounding distractions.
The new single follows a wave of momentum for the artist, adding another compelling entry to his growing catalogue alongside recent fan favorites such as “Shalewa (IGS Memories)” and his collaboration with Lil Frosh, “Esin Meta lolaye.” With “Ore Agbako,” Double Gee2x further solidifies his footprint as a distinct voice within Nigeria’s evolving hip-hop and street-pop landscape.
“Ore Agbako” by Double Gee2x is out now and available for streaming and digital download across all major music platforms worldwide via More Clues Limited.
