Nigerian artist Deewave released his new single, “Save Some For Me,” a poignant and beautifully simple track that explores the delicate balance of loving someone while holding onto your own identity. The song is a heartfelt letter to anyone who has felt overwhelmed or lost in a relationship.
“Save Some For Me” captures the central paradox of love with an intimate touch, as Deewave sings, “Maybe just one more dance… I cannot decide to either float or drown.” The song’s raw vulnerability is especially evident in the powerful line, “When I’m lost I hope I can find me tomorrow,” which speaks to the fear of losing oneself completely to another person.
The track’s core message is delivered with quiet insistence in the titular hook, “I save some me for me, save some you for you,” a revolutionary call for healthy boundaries and emotional sustainability. In a world of performative romance, Deewave offers a refreshing and honest take on what it means to truly connect without sacrificing your own self.
“This song is my letter to anyone who’s ever felt drained by love,” Deewave shares.
“Save Some For Me” is now available on all major streaming platforms.
