Davecash documents his rise from struggle to spotlight in debut EP “Omo Ologo”

April 15, 2026 Jukebox Music 2 min read

Following his breakout performance as the first runner-up on the debut season of MTN Next Afrobeats Star in 2025, Davecash has released his highly anticipated EP, “Omo Ologo”. Out now on all digital platforms via ONErpm, the project serves as a sonic autobiography for the artist known as the “Global Megastar,” blending Afrobeats and rap to tell a story of grit, faith, and ambition.

Born Oladipupo David, Davecash rose to national prominence by outlasting more than 20,000 contestants with a combination of high-octane stage presence and authentic storytelling. Under the mentorship of legendary producer Puffy Tee, he has refined a sound that is both direct and relatable. “Omo Ologo” brings these elements together, capturing the pivotal experiences that shaped him both before and after his time in the national spotlight.

The EP opens with “On God,” a reflective track where Davecash revisits the hardships of his early days. He speaks candidly about financial struggles and the long nights that preceded his success, offering a sobering reminder of the effort hidden behind the fame. This theme of resilience continues in “Mileke,” a prayerful record where he seeks guidance and protection as he navigates his new reality.

The project also explores the rewards of the grind. “Weekend” shifts the mood into an upbeat, celebratory space, providing a rhythmic anthem for release after a week of hustle. To conclude the EP, Davecash pivots toward romance with “Gbese,” a track driven by love and desire. In it, he describes the willingness to go all in for someone special, even when the emotional stakes are high.

“This project is my truth. From when nothing was working to where I am now, every song is part of that journey,” Davecash shares.

“Omo Ologo” marks the arrival of a seasoned voice in the Afrobeats landscape, moving seamlessly between themes of faith, celebration, and devotion. The EP is available for global streaming today.
