Nigerian rapper and singer-songwriter Blaqbonez has dropped his latest single, ‘Follow Her,’ featuring the acclaimed hitmaker Kizz Daniel. The track, which follows initial attempts at collaboration in 2022, is a vibrant celebration of the artists’ genuine friendship and delivers a fresh, avant-garde vibe perfect for the summer season.
Produced by Ramoni, known for his work on Black Sherif x Blaqbonez’s ‘Road Runner,’ ‘Follow Her’ offers a soul-infused sound that will resonate with both Blaqbonez’s and Kizz Daniel’s fanbases. This marks their second collaborative effort since their previous track, ‘One Dollar.’
Blaqbonez has carved a unique space in the Nigerian music scene with his genre-bending sound, seamlessly blending Afrobeats, Hip-Hop, Drill, R&B, and Alté influences. His breakthrough hits include “LIKE ICE SPICE” and “NO SLEEP $$$” featuring Young John, both featured on his critically acclaimed album ‘EMEKA MUST SHINE,’ which earned him the 2023 Headie Award for Best Rap Album. He has also collaborated with a diverse range of international artists such as Ludacris, Odumodublvck, Black Sherif, Victony, Amaarae, Ckay, and JAE5.
Currently entering what he describes as his “super saiyan era,” Blaqbonez is channeling intense focus into his music. His forthcoming project, titled ‘No Excuses,’ promises a diverse collection of tracks, ranging from deeply personal narratives to high-energy, mosh-pit-ready anthems.
Since his emergence in 2019, Blaqbonez has been diligently crafting his own narrative, and ‘No Excuses’ signifies the beginning of his next chapter. With a global rollout strategically planned around fashion weeks in London and Paris this summer, the album is positioned as more than just a musical release—it’s Blaqbonez’s boldest artistic statement yet. With unwavering energy, he aims to solidify his position among the most influential artists of his generation to emerge from Nigeria, supported by ambitious and culture-shaping plans.
