Ghanaian songstress Amaarae is building anticipation for her forthcoming album with the release of her electrifying new single, “Girlie-Pop!” This latest offering masterfully blends the digital chaos of hyperpop with vibrant West African rhythms, creating a rebellious celebration of feminine power.
“Girlie-Pop!” is a testament to Amaarae’s distinctive alté flair, a genre-blurring masterpiece that feels both effortless and unstoppable. Her airy vocals deliver potent couplets about sexual agency and creative control, with each line exuding confidence and unapologetic empowerment. The track transforms playful energy into a fearless anthem of self-expression, radiating an infectious sense of liberation.
Produced by Kyu Steed and Maffalda, “Girlie-Pop!” serves as a compelling follow-up to Amaarae’s previously released track, “S.M.O. (Slut Me Out).” Both singles offer a taste of what’s to come from her highly anticipated thirteen-track project, “BLACK STAR,” which is slated for release in just a couple of weeks.
“BLACK STAR” will be Amaarae’s latest body of work, following her critically acclaimed extended play project, “roses are red, tears are blue — A Fountain Baby.” With “Girlie-Pop!” now out, fans are eagerly awaiting the full album to experience the breadth of her innovative sound and powerful message.
