Nigerian Artist, Legendary, turns up the volume in Canada

By  |

Multi-genre singer, rapper and songwriter, Legendary, is taking his passion for music and entertainment to the next level as he plans to step up the game in every aspect of his career.
Born and raised in Port Harcourt, Minky Isa acquired the pseudonym from the excellent work he did in various activities in high school.

His journey with music goes back to growing up in Nigeria and being exposed to the talent in the country. He is driven by the success of people who came before him in the industry and desires to take part in promoting the culture across the world. He released his first single, “Morning” in November 2021, after finding his unique sound on the track, “Shoget,” which he was featured on
prior to his debut.

The Canadian-based Nigerian artist has since developed his sound across different genres and defines his audience as “anyone that loves good music.” Last year, he released three songs that showcase his diversity in thought and artistic skill. He is known to be adept at switching from one genre to another and satisfying his audience with melodies that fit the season. “I can hop on
pretty much any sound and I’m confident about that.” His distinguished artistry has landed him opportunities beyond successful records and features.

Legendary takes his talent with him in and out of the studio. When he’s not concocting a new hit or trying out a new genre, he’s performing at sold out events and getting the crowd excited. Last Summer, he awed an audience of five thousand people at the Afrobeat Music Festival alongside trailblazers in the industry including P-Square, Focalistic and Kranium. He opened up the show before Teni took the stage at the NCAA awards ceremony, and started out the night for L.A.X at the Canada day mega party in Ottawa with about a thousand people in attendance. Towards the end of last year, he shook up the stage at Prettyboydo’s sold out Pretty Please Tour in Canada before releasing his third single of the year.

As he continues to explore new sounds and audiences, the multi-genre artist plans to release his first EP this year and perform at more shows in North America. He is determined to expand his prowess as an entertainer across Canada and continue to support the growth and
development of afrobeats and other genres.
