Sound of Salem, the influential Nigerian worship collective led by Prophet Joel Ogebe, has announced the release of their latest single, “Revival.” Known for their spontaneous chants and deep-rooted prayer movements, the collective returns with a track that prioritizes spiritual intimacy over contemporary performance.
“Revival” emerges as a quiet, reverent anthem designed to facilitate personal encounters with the Divine. Eschewing complex arrangements for a stripped-back, repetitive structure, the song serves as a functional tool for the modern believer’s prayer closet.
The thematic heart of “Revival” is drawn directly from the imagery of Psalm 42, capturing the visceral longing of a soul thirsting for God as a deer pants for water. The single moves away from the high-energy chants often associated with the collective, opting instead for a gentle, focused atmosphere that encourages stillness and surrender.
What started as intimate prayer meetings has evolved into a global worship movement. Sound of Salem remains committed to its mission of providing music freely to the body of Christ, viewing their discography as a resource for communal and individual growth.
“Revival” is an invitation to pause. It is a record for those seeking to return to a place of total dependence on God, offering a soundtrack for the quiet moments where deep calls unto deep.
“Revival” is available now on all major streaming platforms.
