After years of navigating the highs and heartbreaks of the secular music industry, Tobi Tokz steps back into the spotlight with a new sound—and a clearer soul. His debut gospel single, “I Surrender,” is out now on all major streaming platforms.
Once known for his catchy hooks and image-driven releases, Tobi reveals that the very thing he loved—music—almost caused him to lose himself.
“I got caught up trying to please everyone but God,” Tokz shares. “Fame, image, pressure—it was never enough. ‘I Surrender’ came during the crash. It wasn’t written for charts. It was written so I wouldn’t lose my mind.”
The song, soaked in vulnerability and spiritual clarity, captures his return to purpose, away from performance, and back to prayer. With stripped-down production and soul-baring lyrics, “I Surrender” isn’t about commercial success. It’s a personal breakthrough.
“This is the first time I’m not trying to sound like anything. It’s just the truth. My truth.”
This marks Tobi Tokz’s first official gospel release on DSPs, even though longtime followers have seen glimpses of his faith journey on social media in recent months.
The release kicks off a new era for the artist—one marked by restoration, not reinvention.
“I Surrender” is available now on all major streaming platforms.
